The Covenant Of Remembrance.
The Covenant Of Remembrance.
How did David encourage Himself?
He remembered all the previous times that God had delivered him from situations and from
enemies.
How did he do this? What was his process for remembering?
He carved his staff, he cut it, marked it.
Each mark was a reminder of the things God had brought him through.
It is like having a covenant with it.
If David had never carved, it could not remind him of victory.
You have a car. You buy it, you look after it and feed it.
In return, it will take you anywhere you want.
You receive from a covenant based on what you put into it.
The same applies to every relationship.
(1 Samuel 30:1-6)
